A partnership towards employment

Bentley Mental Health Service (BMHS), in partnership with the ORS Group (external site), now provide access to employment support services for mental health consumers.

Acting Program Manager Sharon Purves says that the partnership is a positive step towards integrating consumers back into the community.

“We help to connect prospective employees with employers and provide services that lead to a dynamic workforce, for both the employer and employee,” said Sharon.

The partnership assists consumers seeking employment by providing them with one-on-one support from disability employment service staff. Staff help consumers manage their disability, injury or medical condition in the workplace.

The personalised approach of the program empowers individuals by connecting them with the best possible opportunities for suitable career options, based on their skill-base.

“There are many personal and health benefits associated with employment and this program provides support to help consumers to remain active members of the community,” said Sharon.

“Together with the ORS Group, this is one of the many programs that we run from BMHS to ensure consumers achieve the best individual outcomes possible.”
