April No Falls Day

Recently staff participated in a day of learning and fun surrounding April No Falls Day with the aim of raising awareness of falls prevention at Bentley.

In the morning, the A Block Dining room was buzzing with staff members participating in computer games, quizzes and tasks, which replicated common scenarios where a fall could occur.

The afternoon involved patient education seminars and a Community Rehabilitation falls clinic touching on the topics of falls prevention, medication, living environment and pendant alarms.

Nikki Thomas, Senior Stroke Physiotherapist said the feedback from the seminars was overwhelmingly positive.

“Patients were very impressed by the level of knowledge and the treatments for falls and falls prevention at Bentley,” Nikki said.
