Continued support for Mental Health consumers

November 18, 2014

Service 3, Royal Perth Group, Bentley Mental Health Service and St. Bartholomew’s House have renewed and signed a further two-year agreement to continue ongoing specialised accommodation support for mental health consumers.

The partnership provides collaborative enhanced rehabilitation accommodation for mental health consumers which help the individual to reintegrate into community life and live independently.

Service 3 Co-Director at Bentley Health Service Ms Louise Tomlinson says that the continued partnership is a positive step forward in recognising the role of active and community living during recovery.

“An environment where consumers are able to live independently, and reintegrate into the community is extremely beneficial during recovery from mental illness,” said Ms Tomlinson.

“We have received over 80 referrals since 2008 and our continued partnership with St Bartholomew’s allows us to provide a support network within the community once consumers are discharged.”

The renewal partnership has been enhanced by the updating of previous agreement and adopting more contemporary and best practice models of recovery within Mental Health.
