New community mental health services at Bentley Health Service

October 9, 2015

On Monday 5 October 2015, a new mental health service model for community clients was put in place at Bentley Mental Health Service.

The new model includes an Assessment Treatment Team (ATT) that operates from 8am to 10pm every day and offers a single point of access to consumers for assessment, clinical advice and time-limited intervention.

Acting Program Manager Sharon Purves said the changes will result in more streamlined and timely services for consumers and referral agencies.

“The ATT aims to deliver comprehensive and efficient care via consultant and team leader clinical leadership,” Sharon said.

Consumers requiring the service for more than 10 weeks will be referred to the Clinical Treatment Team (CTT) that provides multidisciplinary treatment and care coordination.

“The new model reflects many years of planning to enhance the access and quality of care provided to mental health consumers.”

The ATT and CTT model is being implemented across South Metropolitan Health Service as part of the Community Mental Health Redesign Project.
