Bentley Hospital’s Healthy Well and Wise program is a seven week program designed to encourage healthy living outcomes for mental health clients.

The program incorporates education, support and practical skills around healthy living topics such as stress management, meal planning and preparation, and sleep hygiene.

Clients are encouraged to set personalised goals around healthy living at the commencement of the program. Health outcomes are monitored through weekly measures of blood pressure, weight and body mass index. Blood tests for metabolic screening are conducted pre and post program.

Each week the program features dietitians, physiotherapists, psychologists, nursing and occupational therapists, and different topics are presented. The multi-disciplinary team approach ensures that once the program is complete, each participant has the skills and knowledge to be healthy, well and wise!

Healthy Well and Wise’s success has been recognised as a finalist for the WA Health Excellence Awards, in the category that recognises programs that keep the community healthy.

Congratulations to the team for keeping their local community healthy and for the deserved recognition.
