It was time to celebrate at Bentley Health Service last Friday, where current staff, volunteers and executive members came together in recognition of delivering 50 years of care at Bentley. Set on the same day as the then Minister for Health Hon. Graham Charles MacKinnon opened the building in 1967, the afternoon tea saw more than 100 staff attend.

There was no shortage of cake, scones and savoury treats to go around, kindly prepared by the site’s catering team.

EMHS Chief Executive Liz MacLeod said the anniversary provided an opportunity to reflect on the many achievements of the health service and the pivotal role the hospital plays in the community.

“It was wonderful to be able to celebrate Bentley’s 50th birthday, and meet so many members of the Bentley team. The afternoon was a great opportunity for myself and members of the EMHS Board to thank staff for their hard work, and celebrate this important milestone in style,” Liz said.

The Deputy Premier and Minister for Health Hon Roger Cook MLA attended the event and thanked staff for their dedication in his first visit to the hospital since being appointed to the role.
